NASDAQ OMX (NASDAQ: NDAQ) announces that the shares of SEMAFO Inc. (ticker symbol: SMF) today start trading on the main market of NASDAQ OMX Stockholm. SEMAFO is a Large Cap company within the Materials sector. SEMAFO will be the 11th company to list on NASDAQ OMX European main markets in 2011. The company has its primary listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and will be dual-listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.

SEMAFO is a Canadian-based mining company with gold production and exploration activities in West Africa. The company currently operates three gold mines: the Mana Mine in Burkina Faso, the Samira Hill Mine in Niger and the Kiniero Mine in Guinea. SEMAFO’s strategic focus is to maximize shareholder value by effectively managing its existing assets as well as pursuing organic and strategic growth opportunities.
